ReviewRoll ("the app", "we", "us") lets you rate films and TV shows, write short reviews,
and turn them into shareable cards. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.
We've designed ReviewRoll to keep your data on your own devices — we don't run servers that
store your reviews, and we don't track you.
The short version: Your reviews and ratings stay on your device and sync
only through your own private iCloud account. We don't collect personal information, we don't
use analytics or advertising, and we never sell your data.
1. Information we collect
ReviewRoll does not require an account and does not collect
personal information on our servers. Specifically:
Your reviews, ratings and the titles you review are stored locally on your
device. If you have iCloud enabled, they sync across your devices through Apple's iCloud
(CloudKit) in your private database. This data is controlled by you and your Apple
ID — the developer cannot read it.
Search queries you type to find a film or show are sent to The Movie
Database (TMDB) to return matching titles, posters and artwork. We don't attach your
identity to these requests.
Cards you save are written to your device's Photos library, at your
request, using the standard iOS photo permission.
2. What we don't do
No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
No advertising and no ad identifiers.
No tracking of you across other apps or websites.
No selling or sharing of your data with data brokers.
3. Third-party services
Apple iCloud (CloudKit) — used to sync your reviews across your own
devices. Handled under
Apple's Privacy Policy.
The Movie Database (TMDB) — used to search titles and fetch artwork.
See the TMDB Privacy Policy.
This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
4. Data retention & deletion
Because your reviews live on your device and in your private iCloud, you are in control.
Delete a review in the app to remove it, or delete the app and clear its iCloud data from
Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage to remove everything.
5. Children's privacy
ReviewRoll is rated for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not
knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under UK and EU GDPR), you may have rights to access,
correct or delete your personal data. Because ReviewRoll stores your content on your own
device and private iCloud rather than on our servers, you can exercise these directly as
described in section 4. For any questions, contact us below.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the
"Last updated" date at the top of this page.
